A review into whether and how the Ministry of Justice and Department of Corrections discharged responsibilities in receiving and handling allegations of inappropriate workplace behaviour.

Following an independent inquiry into concerns raised about inappropriate workplace behaviour in the context of a joint project between New Zealand Police, the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Corrections, the State Services Commission considered the conduct of those departments in receiving and handling the allegations.

The objective of the review was to consider whether and how the departments had discharged their responsibilities in receiving and handling the allegations with reference to the State Services Commissioner’s speaking up model standards.

The review did not consider the merits of any complaint, or how Police responded to the allegations.
