Medium-Term Fiscal Modelling: Update Report

Discusses trends in government expenditure which utilise both a backward-looking examination of historical data and a forward-looking 50-year projection of fiscal trends - in particular, the extent to which these trends can be linked to an assessment of pressure on overall State sector organisational capability. Updates 50-year fiscal projections from work carried out in 1992, identifying only minor changes as a result of the revisions and updates to fiscal and demographic estimates.
