An investigation into allegations of wrongful expenditure of public money by former Waikato DHB Chief Executive Dr Nigel Murray.
On 10 November 2017, at the request of the Minister of Health, State Services Commissioner Peter Hughes announced the appointment of Mr John Ombler QSO to investigate allegations of wrongful expenditure of public money by former Waikato DHB Chief Executive Dr Nigel Murray.

The objective was to investigate and report on the circumstances of any alleged unauthorised or unjustified expenditure by Dr Murray of DHB funds; any related to similar conduct by Dr Murray or any related person; and any processes undertaken or decisions made by the DHB relating to matters identified.
